In a day filled with excitement and reflection, Year 6 PCACS students marked an important milestone as they celebrated their transition to Year 7, not with a farewell, but with an enthusiastic embrace of the next step in their educational journey.
The event kicked off with a special Celebration Assembly, where students, teachers, and families came together to reflect on the year’s achievements. While the assembly acknowledged all that the students had accomplished, the underlying message was clear: Year 6 is not an end, but a beginning. This celebration was a recognition of their readiness to move forward, with Year 7 just around the corner.
After the assembly, the Year 6 students hosted a Parent Morning Tea, a time for families to come together and share in the moment. Students served their families food and refreshments, which had been kindly provided by the P&F committee and Carnley’s Cuppas.
The celebration continued with a series of outdoor activities; inflatable obstacle courses and bush play games encouraging teamwork, laughter, and a sense of camaraderie.
The most anticipated part of the day arrived in the afternoon, when the students and staff took part in a Wet and Wild play session. Laughter filled the air as students launched water fights, soaking their teachers and classmates alike. The highlight was a surprise cohort photo to start the water fight, where the students were unknowingly doused with buckets of water by staff members from the top floor of the Junior School. The water fight continued with staff and students slip and sliding onto the oval.
As the Year 6 students get ready for their move to Senior School, they do so with the knowledge that their time in Junior School was just the beginning of many more exciting challenges to come.
