Transition days are an important part of a student’s journey, offering the opportunity to explore new environments, meet new peers and build confidence leading into the year ahead. Recently, both our future Year 2 and future Year 7 students enjoyed memorable transition days at the Wellard Campus.

For our Year 1 students, the day at the Wellard Campus was a fun and important step toward becoming Year 2s and moving from the Calista Campus to the Wellard Campus. They spent the day exploring the Campus, touring the facilities with their class and visiting the library. They also participated in a range of engaging activities, including; Digital Technologies in the computer room with Bee Bots, PE on the oval, Drama with Mr Steed and a Bushland Inquiry session. Our current Year 5s who will step in as the Year 6 student leaders for 2025 supported the PE and Digital Technologies lessons, giving the Year 1 students some familiar faces for next year. At recess and lunch, the Year 1s shared play areas with the current Year 2 students, forming new friendships and becoming familiar with their new playground.

Meanwhile, our Year 6 students participated in a transition day into Year 7, alongside incoming students from other schools. The day gave them a taste of Senior School with a range of activities in Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Sport, Music and Drama. Led by Year 9 students, the day offered an opportunity for new connections and eased nerves as students met others in their House groups and engaged in hands-on learning experiences.

We are looking forward to seeing these familiar faces again at the start of next year!
