As Term 1 comes to a close, we have much to celebrate in the Senior School. In my new role as Head of Senior School (HOSS), it has been a privilege to oversee worship for all year groups in our magnificent Grace Chapel, which serves as the spiritual centre of our school. Throughout the term, I have worked with Izaiah Marasigan (Chapel Captain) to prepare and deliver our chapel services. We have been supported by Ms Eloise Hicks, who has worked closely with Izaiah on his "Preach Up" segments of chapel.
This year, our weekly chapel services are alternating between long and short chapel formats. Izaiah's dynamic leadership and ability to engage his peers in the scriptures have been outstanding. Students across all year levels are developing their Anglican identity through this youthful and positive delivery of chapel.
Our diverse and inclusive community celebrated Harmony Week with the usual color and excitement of cultural dress and activities. This year, the Year 11 and 12 students started a new tradition with an outdoor chapel service followed by a multicultural breakfast. Izaiah invited a selection of students to explain the significance of the food they brought. This event was a great success, despite the wet grass on the oval.
In the final weeks of the term, we added singing practice to our chapel time. We have been rehearsing "Lord of the Dance" in anticipation of our Easter service on the last day of the term. Mr Wynhorst has modelled the speed and volume required and his enthusiasm has been infectious. We look forward to the whole-school Easter service, where we will come together to mark the Resurrection of Jesus—three days after his death, the most significant period in the Anglican Church calendar.
Have a blessed Term 1 break with your family.
