Purposeful Learning

The Senior School learning journey is a rich and engaging experience from Years 7-12, constantly challenging each student to aim for their personal best. The teaching and learning programme combines subject specific knowledge and skills with the development of learner attributes such as creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and an inquiry mindset. Our goal is for the young men and women of PCACS to flourish and thrive as life-long learners who can make meaningful contributions to the world around them.

Wellbeing

The Principles of Positive Education using the PERMAH model (Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Achievement, Health) underpin the pastoral care and wellbeing culture of the Senior School. To flourish as students, adolescents need positive support in their social and emotional development. This is provided through a thriving Pastoral Care Group and House structure and with the guidance and support of Year Coordinators, Counsellors and the Director of Pastoral Care. Year level and age-appropriate programmes are delivered through the Compass Programme and the Positive Education Enhanced Curriculum.

Connect, Communicate and Contribute

The Senior School has strong partnerships with community organisations that enhance the educational experience of our students. These opportunities include vocational pathways such as the Kwinana Industries Education Partnership and tertiary pathways via the Murdoch University Preparation Pathway course. The Senior School’s vibrant Service Learning and Co Curricular programmes also offer students the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of character-building activities.
