P&F Association Aims

The P&F Association is an essential and active element of PCACS.  Parental assistance across a wide range of activities is essential to the proper functioning of the School.

The P&F is comprised of a Management Committee (elected at the AGM) through which a variety of Sub Committees are formed.  The main aim of the P&F is FRIENDRAISING.

Our Focus

The P&F is not a group that discusses / focuses upon operations issues that could be resolved through discussions with teachers or staff.  Its only focus is FRIENDRAISING.

The P&F also has a role to provide volunteer assistance in such areas as Co Curricular, working bees, outdoor education, social activities, the Library and friendraising events.  We acknowledge respectfully that many parents have heavy time and work commitments that limit their availability for involvement in P&F activities.  It is expected however (and is a condition of accepting a place at the School), that all parents will be able to commit to some P&F activities as a show of support and community involvement for the School and for their children's holistic education.

At the 2011 AGM parents voted to implement a Fundraising Levy which is currently set at $30.00 per family and is charged annually.  This levy replaces all fundraising such as raffles and stalls, etc.

P&F Events

Our P&F Association holds a number of regular events throughout the School year, including a School Disco in March, a Mother's Day Breakfast in May, and our very popular Movie Nights in June and December.  We aim to provide some sort of structured social event each term, and look forward to seeing as many families as possible join us to experience the friendship and support on offer within the Association.

Father's Day Footyfest

It isn't often that you see hords of Australian Rules cans happily sharing the same ground as rugby and soccer supporters, but that's exactly what happened recently at PCACS, when more than 250 parents, friends, staff and students showed their team colours and celebrated all things 'dad' at the inaugural PCACS P&F Father's Day FootyFest.

Thankfully, the threatened thunderstorm stayed away, allowing families to enjoy a kick around on the oval.  Easles and Dockers fans were obviously plentiful, and were joined by an array of others, including the Bombers, Magpies, Liverpool FC, and the mighty New Zealand All Blacks.

Congratulations to Jaxon Anthony, who took out the best dressed student prize, and to the Behrmann and McNamara families whose efforts also saw them pick up prizes.

Thank you to the dozen volunteers who helped on the night, from cooking hundreds of sausages, serving food and drinks, to cleaning up, and helping to run footy drills on the ocal - this event could not have been run without you.  And a special thank you must go to our P&F Secretary Dianne Jagla, who came up with the idea of the FootyFest, and coordinated the event so perfectly.

Mother's Day Breakfast

Our recent Mother's Day Breakfast proved a great success, with students from across the School taking the opportunity to invite mum in for a bite to eat at the start of the School day, and a great chance to say thank you in the process.  As you can see below, mums and students alike made the most of a wonderful spread laid on by our volunteers, helping students to say "thank you" to their mums in a very practical way.

P&F Disco

One of the highlights of the P&F calendar is our annual Disco, which sees students from right across the School enjoy an evening of music and dance in the School's Undercover Area, supervised by our parent volunteers.  The evening is broken down into age appropriate segments, with our youngest students jiving and bopping first, followed by their older siblings.  This year's event was held on a balmy March evening, and featured the Castlerock Institute of Music, who provided us with the short video below, shot on the night.  We hope you'll agree with us that they did an outstanding job, and we look forward to inviting them back in the near future.

Movie Night

Building on the great success of last year's showings of 'Rio 2' and 'Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day', the P&F recently hosted another of its popular Movie Nights, this time screening 'Minions'.  United Cinemas in Rockingham provided the venue, including a couple of rows of extremely comfortable recliner seats, allowing parents and students alike to sit back and enjoy the show in the lap of luxury.  Thank you again to all those parents who helped to organise the event, and all who attended.  Keep watching our webpage for news of the next Movie Night in a few months time.
